Blowing His Own Horn

KG was born ('64) and raised on Long Island, NY.  He attended New York University, where he studied with Lee Konitz and Joe Lovano, graduating in 1986.  Then followed three years working NY's famed Catskill Mountains, Miami Beach, FL and the cruise ships.  After that, five years on the road with the big bands (Glenn Miller, Artie Shaw, Tommy Dorsey).  Perhaps you saw him on PBS in Big Band Ballroom Bash or The Tunes of Dorsey - A Sentimental Journey in Swing.  Since 1994, KG has been freelancing from a NYC-area base, where his long-running associations include TriPod (original rockers), the Blue Saracens (swing scenesters), Micky Dolenz (Monkee), Good Clean Fun (legendary party band), Tony Traina (drum phenom) and the Bensen Scott Big Band.  His new trio, Meat + 2 Veg, is steadily building a following.   Maybe you heard him with the house band at the Rainbow Room.  The Buddy Holly Story at Westchester Broadway Theatre?  No matter, for you may hear him here.
